CalWest’s client school in the Los Angeles area seeks a TK-6th Teachers to start in August 2023.
CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Required (Intern Credential accepted)
- (ELA) Authorization to teach English Learners Required
- CBEST, CSET, RICA passed test results preferred (In progress accepted)
- Teacher must live in the LA area or be willing to commute to the school daily as classes are in person
- Teacher must pass a TB test
- Teacher must pass a background check
Responsibilities
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Regularly review student data and adjust lessons and instructional strategies to the needs of students.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Conduct home visits for all students before the first day of school and maintain open communication with families throughout the year.
- Participate in ongoing professional development in the core curricula, sped, ELD, supplemental curricula, college preparation, classroom management, and discipline and diversity awareness
- Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
- Grade Papers, assignments, maintain grade books and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Utilize various curricular resources and integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Develop incentives to engage students in the classroom.
- Develop professional relationships with other agencies health, dental, housing and nonprofit organizations and programs.
- Utilize public library resources.
- Work with the AP of Instruction and Principal to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities and observe and evaluate student’s performance.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
Salary Range
$66,560 – $95,000
