CalWest’s client school in Los Angeles, CA seeks an Educational Specialist (Resource Teacher) to begin in August of 2024.
CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the subject area(s) to be taught or in a closely related area.
- Compliance with the policies on tuberculosis, criminal record review, and employment eligibility verification.
- CA Education Specialist Credential with an authorization in Mild to Moderate and/or Moderate to Severe and English Language Learner authorization
- Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills with experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on assessments and evaluations of their strengths and needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student’s unique needs, including modifying materials, providing accommodations, and using assistive technology.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure that all students are making progress toward their goals.
- Provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and other educators on student progress and needs.
- Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school related meetings as needed.
- Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Salary Range
$65,800 – $100,747
