CalWest’s client school in Los Angeles, CA seeks an Educational Specialist (Resource Teacher) to begin in August of 2024.


CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the subject area(s) to be taught or in a closely related area. 
  • Compliance with the policies on tuberculosis, criminal record review, and employment eligibility verification. 
  • CA Education Specialist Credential with an authorization in Mild to Moderate and/or Moderate to Severe and English Language Learner authorization
  • Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills with experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on assessments and evaluations of their strengths and needs. 
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. 
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student’s unique needs, including modifying materials, providing accommodations, and using assistive technology. 
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure that all students are making progress toward their goals.  
  • Provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and other educators on student progress and needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation. 
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school related meetings as needed. 
  • Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training opportunities

Salary Range

$65,800 – $100,747
