Lower School Associate Teacher

CalWest client school in the Greater Los Angeles area seeks a Lower School Associate Teacher for the 2024-25 school year, starting August, 2024.


CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; progress towards an advanced degree in Elementary or Early Education preferred
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience in a classroom
  • Previous experience with Lower School students preferred
  • Competent in using Google Suite
  • Strong proficiency with technology and an ability to use technology effectively in the classroom

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and model a respectful, safe, creative, and invigorating classroom
  • Demonstrate effective use of classroom materials and technology to enhance learning and students success
  • Lead math groups by creating and implementing lesson plans, assigning and evaluating homework, assessing student progress, and partnering with parents and teachers to ensure progress and achievement
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to co-plan and eventually lead subjects such as Reading Workshop, Writing Workshop, Service Learning, and/or Thematic Studies (social studies)
  • Evaluate student work, using both formative and summative assessments, benchmarks, and other assessments to guide instructional planning and promote student success

Salary Range

$50,000 – $54,700
