CalWest’s client school in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking an Elementary Science Teacher to begin in August 2024.
CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States

Responsibilities
- Teach assigned ES Science courses
- Develop and refine curriculum maps, lessons, and units of study that meet or exceed the requirements of NGSS Standards in each subject assigned to teach
- Plan and coordinate science/nature based trip
- Supervise students in and out-of-classroom activities during the school day, including carpool, recess, and lunch supervision
- Attend and participate in all staff development, including staff orientation and professional development for both internal (led by the Head of Academics, Director of Elementary School, other teachers/staff, and/or visiting experts) and external (visiting other schools, attending conferences, and engaging in best practice sharing with others in the school community, etc.) as arranged/calendared by the School
- Participate and/or lead special school events including, but not limited to, Open House, Back to School Night, grade level trips, and special student performances
- Assess student progress and achievement using a variety of means to collect and report on academic data
- Use data to inform instruction in order to meet individual student academic and social needs with a goal of every student performing on grade level or above in all subject areas
Salary Range
$60,000 – $80,000
