CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education, child development, or related field required

Responsibilities
- Actively participate in a collaborative employee culture that is committed to being at the leading edge of JK – 12th grade education.
- Report to the Head of Lower School
- Lead teach a 2nd-grade class, including language arts, mathematics, and social studies
- Implement the school’s social-emotional curriculum, which is based on the Responsive Classroom approach
- Provide a hands-on, inquiry-based style of teaching that exemplifies how student wellness, intellectual rigor, and a deep commitment to social impact and DEI are critical to the school’s learning experience
- Effectively manage flexible, collaborative learning experiences with various sized groups of students
- Thoughtfully integrate technology into the curriculum
- Collaboratively design integrated, project-based experiences for the weekly block with colleagues
- Co-plan and co-teach with colleagues, including Resident Teachers, focusing on differentiated instruction
- Communicate student progress and needs with students’ caregivers on a regular and as-needed basis
- Differentiate instruction for a range of learners by partnering with student support team members to effectively support and challenge each student at their “just right” level
- Continue to evolve best practices in line with the school’s strategic priorities and in collaboration with school leadership
Salary Range
$77,500 – $140,000
