Innovation Support Specialist

This opening calls for specific teaching qualifications set by the school.

CalWest’s client school in the Greater Orange County area seeks an Innovation and Support Specialist to start July 1, 2024.


CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in the area of computer science, educational technology, innovation or similar field from an accredited college or university required.
  • “Teacher first” with a minimum of three years of experience in the classroom, preferably in a K-12 school environment.
  • Ability to “speak teacher” and intimately understand the needs and demands of teachers and instructional technology.
  • Proficiency in supporting a wide variety of technology platforms (PC, Mac, iPad, mobile, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • General knowledge of computer hardware and software maintenance and support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to solve technical problems.
  • Experience with digital fabrication tools (3D printers, laser cutters, etc).
  •  A growth mindset and willingness to stay fresh and innovative.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with members of the technology team, as well members across the school community.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus, both internal and external.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter with the ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the needs of the technology department by responding to help requests from faculty and students.
  • Utilize the helpdesk ticketing system to manage and prioritize support requests.
  • Manage student devices (i.e. laptop carts, iPads, Chromebooks, etc).
  • Support the use of digital fabrication tools (i.e. laser cutter, 3D printers, etc).
  • Define, configure and set-up academic software.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology and Innovation to help teachers explore technology and innovative solutions to enhance the learning experiences of students at every grade level (Preschool-8).

Salary Range

$ 65,000 – $ 85,000
