CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, English (or related field) required
- Master’s Degree or beyond is preferred
- Has at least 3-5 years of instructional experience in History or other related Humanities subjects, at the high school level.
- Has at least three years of experience teaching international high school students.
Responsibilities
- Teaches five sections of History/Social Studies courses, including Modern World History, Modern World History (Honors), and Government & Economics (Honors).
- Uses a wide range of primary and secondary source materials, including work with the U.S. American historical story.
- Develops units and lessons that help students understand their place in the historical narrative, and which utilize multiple modalities of instruction and assessment.
- Adheres to the guidelines, goals, and curriculum of the Humanities department.
- Welcomes the opportunity to develop Social Studies and/or English 12th-grade electives.
Salary Range
$ 51,000 – $ 63,000
