CalWest’s client school in Oakland, CA is seeking a Middle School Spanish Teacher to begin August 2023.

CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • A teacher credential in Spanish
  • Experience engaging students in Spanish with thoughtful, innovative curriculum
  • A commitment to equity and a belief that diversity is essential
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, ready to create and iterate, to adopt new technologies, and to blaze trails
  • Experience teaching beginning Spanish and heritage Spanish
  • Experience with project based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or blended learning
  • A maker-builder mindset
  • Knowledge of another language
  • A Masters degree


  • Innovate, designing curriculum, lessons, and assessments that engage students in authentic learning experiences
  • Collaborate, developing interdisciplinary projects, and working with the education specialist to implement student supports
  • Engage, serving as an advisor for a group of students, and attempting to know every student at EBIA
  • Grow, expanding your practice with the support of the Principal

Salary Range

$ 51,000 – $ 91,000
