CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum five years of experience in advancement, development or fundraising leadership, preferably in an independent school or nonprofit organization.
- Proven track record of success in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns and donor relations.
- Ability to mentor and inspire a high-performing team.
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities, with experience engaging trustees, donors, parents, alumni and community members.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge and digital marketing tools like Google Analytics.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:
- STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
- Develop and implement a comprehensive advancement and marketing strategy, including annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, alumni relations, and brand awareness.
- Partner with the Head of School and Advancement Team to set and achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
- Serve as a key member of senior leadership initiatives with the school’s long-term strategic vision.
- Develop and sustain a pipeline of major donors, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship.
- FUNDRAISING AND MAJOR GIFTS
- In partnership with the Head of School, lead the school’s major gifts strategy, guiding and overseeing efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward leadership donors.
- Partner with the Director of Development to build and sustain strong relationships with high-capacity donors, alumni families and other important constituents.
- Lead the planning and execution of any capital campaigns, including feasibility studies, donor strategy, and campaign communications.
- In partnership with the Parent Association Leadership, oversee the planning and execution of the annual school benefit and auction, including sponsorships, procurement, and donor engagement.
- MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
- In partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications, lead the school’s marketing strategy and oversee its efforts, to ensure clear and consistent messaging that reflects the school’s mission and values.
- Ensure that all advancement and marketing materials effectively communicate impact stories and donor engagement opportunities.
- Oversee the maintaining of brand consistency by the Director of Marketing and Communications, including visual identity, content and messaging across all school platforms.
- COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND ALUMNI RELATIONS
- Strengthen and expand alumni engagement programs, ensuring meaningful connections with Crestview graduates.
- Enhance parent and grandparent engagement initiatives to foster deeper community involvement and philanthropic support.
- Work with the Board of Trustees, with particularly the Advancement Committee, providing strategic insights, reports and updates on fundraising and engagement trends.
Salary Range
$135,000 – $150,000
