CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching credential
- Strong proficiency in piano/keyboard and vocal instruction.
- Experience teaching ukulele and recorder in a classroom setting.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for music education and commitment to student development.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a cohesive music curriculum for grades K–8.
- Provide high-quality instruction in choral singing, piano/keyboard, ukulele, and recorder.
- Prepare detailed and developmentally appropriate lesson plans in advance.
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment through engaging lessons and dynamic teaching practices.
- Organize and lead student performances, including seasonal concerts and special events with our school choir.
- Assess and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to align curriculum and ensure a strong arts program.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, staff, and school leadership.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and values in and out of the classroom.
Salary Range
$47,000 – $73,000
