CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree; credential or Master’s in related field, preferred.
- Minimum Experience: 3 years of teaching in a lower elementary setting. Strong computer and technology skills with variety of hardware (e.g., smart boards, iPads, laptops) and software (e.g., LMS platforms, Nearpod, Kahoot, Zoom, etc.) .
- Knowledge: Research-based teaching strategies, Common Core standards, technology resources, smartboard use
- The successful applicant is subject to a background check.
Responsibilities
- Implement the school’s educational program which is aligned with the goals and objectives of the school’s mission and follows Common Core and State educational standards
- Create and support a dynamic classroom environment incorporating active learning and research-based teaching strategies
- Incorporates skills of collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking
- Differentiate instruction for children in varied levels in areas such as Math and Reading/Language Arts
- Foster students’ social-emotional development through specific programs (e.g., Responsive Classroom)
- Conduct regular assessment of student growth using a variety of tools and products
- Maintain regular and constructive communication with parents regarding student progress
- Utilize organizational and instructional technological programs (e.g., Schoology, Canvas, Kahoot, Brain Pop, etc.)
- Integrate a variety of technology hardware such as Smart Boards, iPads, Chromebooks, etc.
- Supervise students on the playground and during arrival and dismissal
- Participate in a collaborative and collegial faculty culture
- Have experience teaching remotely when needed
