CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- 3+ years teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Must possess a growth mindset and be open to using feedback to refine practice
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain an organized, engaging classroom environment that supports student independence, curiosity, and social-emotional growth.
- Implement Montessori principles while integrating project-based learning and interdisciplinary studies when applicable.
- Use a variety of teaching methodologies to support diverse learning styles and needs.
- Foster a classroom culture of high expectations, accountability, and a love of learning.
- Collaborate closely with team members on curriculum design and best teaching practices.
- Assess students regularly, examine assessment data, and refine lesson plans to differentiate instruction for each student while working collaboratively with the Student Support Services team
- Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress
- Prepare documents and reports necessary to facilitate parent-teacher conferences or other meetings requested by parents or school administration.
- Write weekly classroom updates to inform families about ongoing work, upcoming events, and notable classroom milestones
Salary Range
$64,000 – $90,000
