CalWest’s client school in Seattle, Washington, seeks a School Counselor for Grades 4-8 to begin in August 2025.
CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Must be experienced with children ages 9-14 as a counselor in an educational setting.
- Experience with the social and emotional needs of gifted students is preferred.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organizational ability in an environment where priorities often change.
- Experience developing and coordinating student intervention plans with parents, faculty, administration, and outside professionals is required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a consultant to teachers, students, parents, outside professionals, and school administration to help address the social and emotional needs of students;
- Work directly with students and parents on counseling issues;
- Teach Social and Emotional Learning lessons 4-8;
- Provide professional counseling referrals to families;
- Develop and coordinate student intervention plans with parents, faculty, administration, and outside professionals as needed;
- Crisis intervention with students as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range
$ 69,000 – $ 128,000
