Hávila joined the CalWest team in 2018, bringing a wealth of experience in education and leadership. She holds a B.A. in Business Finance from Hood College, an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and an M.S. in School Administration (K-12). She is also a candidate for her Ed.D. in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University, having completed all coursework.

Hávila began her teaching career in inner-city schools, where she taught high school computer science, systems and multimedia, and Microsoft Office for four years before transitioning to third-grade teaching at the elementary level.

Originally from Staten Island, Hávila lived in Maryland for 20 years before relocating to Pittsburgh, PA. While in Maryland, she worked as a project manager for a government contracting start-up, and later as an agent, technology specialist, and marketing specialist for Prudential Preferred Financial Services. After nine years in the private sector, she pursued her passion for education, returning to school and advancing her career in Pittsburgh, where she became a high school assistant principal and later an elementary school principal.

Before joining CalWest, Hávila worked for a company specializing in online curriculum design and instruction. Her team developed over 170 courses annually, serving more than 10,000 K-12 students. From 2015 to 2020, she served on the Board of Trustees at the Western Pennsylvania Montessori School, including a term as Board President from 2018 to 2019. In 2023, she joined the Board of Trustees at St. Edmund’s Academy in Pittsburgh, PA.
