CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Education, or a related field
- Master’s degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferredÂ
- 1+ years of teaching computer science.Â
- Strong classroom management skills.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Â
- Passion for education and promoting computer science knowledge.Â
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment.Â
- Experience working with middle school students is a plus.Â
Responsibilities
- Teaching upper-level electives (such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or Languages) to high school students as well as foundational programming courses to middle school students.Â
- Ensure lesson plans are engaging and active, which supports a positive classroom management program.Â
- Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to computer science or the successful candidate’s interests.Â
- Foster creativity and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects and activities.Â
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students on programming projects.Â
Salary Range
