CalWest client school in the Greater Los Angeles area seeks a Middle School Physical Education Teacher to begin July 31, 2025.


CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the subject area(s) to be taught or in a closely related area
  • Has the credential required by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing for the position
  • Compliance with the policies on tuberculosis, criminal record review, and employment eligibility verification
  • Successful experience in teaching or in other ways working with students (of the age level for which employment is offered)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and delivers instruction (presentations, activities, investigations, projects, discussions, and so forth) that is designed to help students acquire one or more of the curriculum content items specified in the Common Core State Standards.
  • Supervises students, encouraging responsible student behavior, providing direction for responsible behavior where needed and otherwise caring for the well-being of each student and for good order of the learning environment; this is done both in regular classroom settings, at times of student meals and recreational breaks, during approved school field trips, and for any other period that may be assigned by the principal.
  • Reports student progress in acquiring curriculum content items and responsible behavior on such forms or in such a manner as specified by the principal; this reporting is done both to the principal and to parents.
  • Supports and cooperates with other school faculty and staff in a manner that furthers the successful completion of their duties.
  • Responds promptly to inquiries from parents and provides parents with any special information about student performance or behavior that will help a student better meet the school’s performance standards.
  • Attends such parent, community, and professional meetings that, in the opinion of the principal, are necessary for teacher attendance.
  • Participates in the professional development activities that have been established by the principal or by the chief executive officer (or authorized delegate).
  • Acts as a role model of the core values of the school.
  • Supports the philosophy and goals of the school and the mission and goals of the school.
  • Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of students and other faculty and staff.
  • Holds confidential matters with appropriate confidentiality.
  • Adheres to all the policies and practices of the school.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by the principal that further the goals of the school.

Salary Range

$ 61,000 – $ 67,000
