CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- K-6 Teaching Certification.
- Proven experience working with K-5 students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and progressive educational philosophies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Creative and flexible approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to fostering a love of mathematics in students.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to students in small group, individual settings, and whole group instruction, focusing on targeted skill development.
- Design and implement differentiated learning activities aligned with the curriculum and student needs.
- Modify assignments and assessments to ensure accessibility for all learners.
- Support student inquiry by integrating real-world problem-solving and hands-on learning experiences.
- Utilize and adapt a variety of math programs and strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Consult with classroom teachers to discuss student progress, share strategies, and develop effective interventions.
- Model effective math instruction and differentiation strategies for teachers in the classroom.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers regarding differentiated instruction and learning differences.
- Provide feedback on teaching practices and suggest modifications to the curriculum to better support diverse learners.
- Assist in developing and implementing math-related accommodations and supports within the classroom.
- Integrate inquiry-based learning approaches into interventions, fostering curiosity and deep mathematical thinking.
- Support student self-regulation and executive functioning skills through individualized strategies.
- Promote a positive classroom environment that values student voice, choice, and active participation in their learning journey.
Salary Range
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week
