4th Grade Teacher – Reading/Social Studies

Crestview Preparatory School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Fourth Grade Teacher – Reading/Social Studies to join our education team.

CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in education or related field based.  
  • Hold a multi-subject teaching credential. 
  • Have a minimum of 6 years teaching experience in an elementary setting 
  • Experience leading advisory is preferred but not required. 
  • Proficiency with technology and digital platforms in the classroom 
  • Training in Responsive Classroom and Writer’s Workshop preferred.

  • Demonstrates personal integrity, friendliness, patience, fairness, openness, non-defensiveness, sensitivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm. Demonstrates professionalism through reliability, punctuality, participation in meetings and staff development opportunities, as well as in personal appearance and self-care, and maintains personal integrity and a respectful attitude in professional relationships. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and administrators. Communicates verbally with children, parents, administrators, and colleagues and maintains a sensitive, cooperative, respectful, and flexible demeanor in interactions with others. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; create and interpret graphs; compute ratio and percent and use a calculator.  
  • Ability to use machines such as copiers, laminators, and telephones, and computers sufficient to perform all duties and responsibilities. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense in dealing with everyday and emergency situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form

Salary Range

$ 70,000 – $ 90,000
