CalWest’s client school in Seattle, Washington, seeks a Middle School Social Studies Teacher to begin in August 2025.


CalWest Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Client School Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five years of elementary teaching experience is required.
  • Must be experienced with the developmental needs of 12 to 14 year-old children.
  • Experience developing and implementing social studies curriculum for grades 6-8 is required.
  • Academic or professional experience in gifted education, creative problem-solving, and inquiry-based education is preferred. 

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing an elementary curriculum
  • The middle school social studies teacher will be a member of the middle school faculty and report to the middle school head.
  • This position is ideal for the dynamic and knowledgeable teacher who has experience designing and implementing social studies curriculum for grades 6-8.
  • The teacher will work closely with other teachers and content-area specialists.
  • Teacher responsibilities also include teaching electives, overseeing an advisory, participating in domestic and international class outings and grade-level trips, and attending faculty and department-level meetings. 

Salary Range

$69,000 – $128,000
