CalWest Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
- Requisite skills commensurate with the position
- A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
- Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least five years of elementary teaching experience is required.
- Must be experienced with the developmental needs of 12 to 14 year-old children.
- Experience developing and implementing social studies curriculum for grades 6-8 is required.
- Academic or professional experience in gifted education, creative problem-solving, and inquiry-based education is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing an elementary curriculum
- The middle school social studies teacher will be a member of the middle school faculty and report to the middle school head.
- This position is ideal for the dynamic and knowledgeable teacher who has experience designing and implementing social studies curriculum for grades 6-8.
- The teacher will work closely with other teachers and content-area specialists.
- Teacher responsibilities also include teaching electives, overseeing an advisory, participating in domestic and international class outings and grade-level trips, and attending faculty and department-level meetings.
Salary Range
$69,000 – $128,000
