CalWest’s client school in Orange County, CA area seeks a Director of Performing Arts to start July 2022.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Relevant, recent experience
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts or related discipline (a Master’s is a plus).
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a director and teacher of theatre arts at the leadership level as well as department chair experience.
  • Must be an experienced speaker and presenter as well, as representation of the school at major functions is a key role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Performing Arts Department Chair.
  • Develop, submit for approval, and administer the Performing Arts department’s annual production budget.
  • Manage and mentor all Arts Adjunct faculty, such as private music teachers, including recruitment, hiring, growth and support, in cooperation with the Director of Extensions.
  • Develop, submit for approval and administer the performing arts calendar, working with all stakeholders to develop the school’s overall calendar.
  • Work with individual show directors to provide production support for all performing arts events (theatre productions, dance concerts, music concerts, special events).
  • Manage and oversee official Arts Social Media platforms.
  • Write Arts section of the school’s Annual Report.
