Spanish Language Teaching Fellow

CalWest’s partner school in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Spanish Language Teaching Fellow to start in August 2021. This one-year position is meant for newer educators.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Relevant, recent experience
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year or less of full-time secondary school teaching experience, or multiple years of middle/elementary school experience, teaching Spanish Language
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish Language and/or Literature, or related
  • Has worked with high school students in some capacity (as a teacher, tutor, coach, camp counselor, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Teach six courses over the year
  • Curricular development and alignment 
  • Design of skills-based formative and summative assessments 
  • Regular communication with the student, their parents, and the student’s advisor
  • One-on-one student tutorial as needed 
  • Weekly faculty and course team meetings
