CalWest’s client school in rural Santa Barbara county is seeking a Farm Manager and Agricultural teacher for their Boarding High School to begin in June 2021.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
  • Requisite skills commensurate with the position
  • A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
  • Relevant, recent experience
  • Authorization to live and work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working and managing an organic farm,
  • including operating & maintaining farm equipment
  • Hardworking in a physically demanding job
  • Enthusiasm for working with teenagers
  • Prior relevant teaching/educational experience
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills

More about this role…


  • Manage & work our 10 acre organic farm, including supervision of farm labor year-round (student, volunteer, and paid)
  • Teach 1-2 classes in 1-2 sections (subject TBD – agriculture class or farm internship)
  • Coach 2-3 seasons of Sports/Activities (Farm Sport)
  • Advising students & supervision duties
  • Vigorous participation as a faculty & community member
