CalWest’s client school in Orange County, California is seeking a Head of Lower School. This is a full-time opening beginning in the 2021-22 school year. 

Required Qualifications

  • Masters of Arts degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Education
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in educational administration
  • Self-starter with ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which time sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions
  • Ability to delegate, coordinate and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus (internal and external)

  • Maintain congruency between the school’s board-approved mission statement and all activities of the division
  • Act as the educational leader of the Lower School division responsible for daily operation
  • Direct activities of faculty members and support staff in the performance of their duties
  • Function as the chief articulator of the division’s programs, expectations, course objectives, department goals, behavioral guidelines, and other areas necessary to ensure that all constituencies are fully informed consistent with their individual roles
  • Observe, supervise, and help evaluate faculty in the development and implementation of curriculum
  • Supervise the teaching process and review and evaluate academic programs
